Mike McQuaide is a freelance writer and former outdoor and features writer for the Bellingham Herald. McQuaide, a graduate of Bellingham?s Western Washington University, has lived in Bellingham for twenty years. He?s run and bicycled in Ski to Sea, the area?s biggest event; climbed Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan, the area?s tallest mountains; and acted and played music on many of the area?s stages. McQuaide lives in Bellingham's Columbia neighborhood with his wife Jennifer, and son, Baker, named for the 10,781-foot volcano just east of Bellingham.
