Emma Darwin is the author of several successful historical novels, includingThe Mathematics of Love and A Secret Alchemy. The great-great-granddaughter of Charles Darwin, she also writes short fiction, and has had her stories published and broadcast. She has appeared at literary festivals from Hay on Wye to New Zealand, and she teaches, lectures and blogs. She is an associate lecturer at the Open University, teaching creative writing.
