Abusir XIII ― Abusir South 2: Tomb Complex of the Vizier Qar, His Sons Qar Junior and Senedjemib and Iykai

Excavations of this particular site began in 1995, leading to the discovery of the tombs of the vizier Qar and his sons. A multidisciplinary team of researchers has been delving into questions pertaining to the development of the burial ground through time, the spatial division of the burial ground as it relates to the social status of those who are buried there, typical anthropological traits of the Old Kingdom population, and preservation of excavated monuments. This is the first of three planned volumes documenting the excavation of the tomb complex. It includes accompanying chapters on geology, a geophysical survey of Abusir South, palaeoecological studies of faunal and floral remains from the tombs, and anthropological evaluation of human remains.
