Making her comics debut in ACTION COMICS #252, from 1959, the Girl of Steel quickly became Superman's secret weapon in his battle for Truth, Justice and the American Way--and a key hero in the DC Universe. During his 30-year comics career the veteran science fiction writer penned the comic-book adventures of Superman, Doc Savage, the Shadow, Captain America, Blackhawk, and most notably Captain Marvel and his supporting cast, the majority of whose Golden Age exploits sprang from Binder's fertile imagination.
