Red Flags takes the reader to the beach of Wesley Brooks' youth and a summer filled with rip currents and dangerous friendships. When he moves to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for the summer of 1993, Wesley expects to find warm water, a simple job, and maybe a special girl to share nights on the beach with. Frustrated with menial tasks at work and faced with an emergency he may have caused, Wesley is forced to answer for his actions when the ambulances show up. His confidence needs a boost and he finds it among a group of guys who aren’t lacking any bravado.
