The Lucky Few ― Growing Up With a Learning Disability

I read somewhere that up to 10% of all school-age children have a learning disability. I consider these kids to be the lucky few—and I am one of them. I didn’t always think I was lucky. As a matter of fact, there were lots of days when I didn’t want to go to school. I just wanted to stay home and play outside, explore, ride my bike—anything but try to read and write. But with the help of some fabulous teachers, I was able to see what a gift I had been given. This is my story.
