Research into the phenomenon of false memory has increased considerably over the last twenty years, focusing on the implications of distorted memories in legal and therapeutic contexts, and the perhaps less dramatic consequences for our sense of self and identity.False and Distorted Memories draws on the expertise of leading international researchers to present an up-to-date snapshot of key developments in the field. It will also explore future directions, whilst synthesizing new findings on the causes, contexts and consequences of false memories.
作者簡介
Robert Nash is Lecturer in Social Psychology, Crime and Law at the University of Surrey, UK. He has published widely on the role of evidence in shaping people's memories of past experiences, and on the relationship between remembering and believing in past events.
James Ost is Reader in Applied Cognitive Psychology at the University of Portsmouth, UK. He has published widely on the repressed/recovered memories controversy and on spontaneous false memories. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the British False Memory Society.
