Hopper isn't exactly eager to part ways with his tonsils, even if they have grown to a rather unmanageable size. In fact, he's terrified. His parents have promised an unlimited post-op popsicle supply, but he'll believe that when he sees the popsicles. Worst of all, now his whole class knows about his impending doom, thanks to his best friend Quinny breaking her promise to keep it secret.
Quinny has hardly been able to sleep out of excitement for the best field trip in the history of field trips: a visit to the local animal shelter, packed with adorable (and adoptable!) dogs. Little sisters are only a temporary fix: she needs areal pet. But just as they're loading up the bus, Quinny gets mysteriously pulled aside and tested for... lice?! Turns out the creepy crawlers are all over her head, and who else would have given them to her but her little monkey of a sister, Piper.
Quinny can't believe her bad luck, but there's no time for moping--or revenge. Charles Santoso loves drawing little things in his little journal and dreaming about funny, wondrous stories. He gathers inspiration from his childhood memories and curiosities he discovers in his everyday travels. He has illustrated several picture books, including I Don't Like Koala by Sean Ferrel, Spy Guy: The Not-So-Secret Agent by Jessica Young, andPeanut Butter & Brains by Joe McGee. During the day he works at an animation studio as a concept artist/art director and has been involved in various animated feature film and tv commercial projects. Charles Santoso's work has been exhibited in Sydney and also internationally in North America and France. He currently lives and works in Sydney, Australia.
