This guide describes solution-focused approaches to working with violence and confrontation in children, young people, and adults, with an emphasis on safety. It uses the principles of the Signs of Safety model: understanding the position of each family member, finding exceptions to the violence, discovering strengths and resources that can be used in the problem situation, focusing on the goals of all involved to ensure the safety of the most vulnerable, scaling safety and progress, and assessing willingness, confidence, and capacity to change. It also addresses ending a session and groupwork. Annotation ©2017 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
