Stone Woman is a family saga driven by Blossom, a woman whose bond with the sculptures created during the 1967 Art Symposium in Toronto is fuelled by her mother?s love affair with a draft dodger during the hippie daze of Toronto. During the Symposium, a large block of marble to be used for one of the sculptures disappears, and the mystery of the stolen piece becomes the focus of speculation in the Toronto arts community. The bittersweet drama of this unconventional family?two mothers and their daughters, a draft dodger, and a mysterious woman? culminates in the vortex of their loves, their spiritual quests, and sharing in the history of their times.
作者簡介
Bianca Lakoseljac?s previous publications include a collection of stories, Bridge in the Rain (Guernica, 2010), and the novel Summer of the Dancing Bear (Guernica 2012). She is the recipient of the Matthew Ahern Memorial Award in literature. Bianca divides her time between Toronto and Woodland Beach on Georgian Bay.
