商品簡介
In the late 1990s, the journalist Claude Glayman carried out a series of interviews with the French composer Dutilleux, which were published in French in 1997. This volume presents the interviews for English readers, translated by Nichols, a specialist in French music and translator. The topics of the conversation are noted in headers listed in the table of contents and include Geviève Joy, the performance of Pelléas in September 1940, Jean Cassou, "Le Double" via Münch, Malraux's support for music, and the composer's nocturnes. Dutilleux's thoughts on a large number of contemporary and historic composers are a predominant feature. A name index, bibliography, discography, and list of works are included. There is no subject index. Annotation (c) Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
