A native of Nasiriya, Iraq, Hussein Hussein was impressed into Saddam Hussein’s “People’s Army” and indentured for fifteen years, forced to fight an unwinnable war against Iran and treated like a slave. After escaping through Jordan, he sought asylum in the USA, where he continued the education he had begun at Baghdad University.? After study at Marshal University (WV) and Middle Tennessee State University where he earned a Ph.D., Dr. Hussein has taught at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Now retired, he lives with his wife, Dr. Zaineb Albayati, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
