Cattaneo (1801-1869) was a leading Italian economic theorist and political thinker. This volume presents one of Cattaneo's most significant essays, in which he identifies mind, i.e. intelligence and will, as the main cause of the wealth of nations. The first dual language edition was published in Milan in 2001, with the Italian text and corresponding English translation on facing pages, and translation provided by Ruggero di Palma Castiglione.
