商品簡介
Sharfrir and Etkind explore those parts of a universal digital library containing documents that communicate knowledge with controlled vocabularies of sub-languages mostly in the various disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Unlike natural language, in which a word often has many connotations, in a controlled vocabulary of a sub-language, a unique "code word" acts like the proper name of a concept, the meaning of which is encoded in its building blocks, namely, co-occurring sub-ordinate concepts and relations. They cover representations of meaning in different semiotic systems; natural language and sub-languages with controlled vocabularies; concept parsing algorithms; evolving concepts; meaning equivalence, boundary of meaning, and granularity of meaning; interactive concept discovery; and meaning equivalence reusable language objects.
