商品簡介
This book aims to support anti-corruption efforts in, respectively, Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Lesotho, Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, and the region at large. It seeks to inform policy-makers, the donor community, civil society, and others about what can be done to accelerate the fight against corruption and reduce its impact on democratic development. While the poor have always been with us, so, too, has corruption, which hurts the poor disproportionately by diverting funds intended for development, undermining a government's ability to provide basic services, feeding inequality and injustice, and discouraging foreign investment and aid. The book, ultimately, leaves the solution to the people, especially in relation to high-level corruption; because the power solely lies in the hands of the people, they must, through the party, petition, ballot and other lawful means, reject a leadership that is either corrupt or shields corruption.
