Cultivating Mindfulness in Clinical Social Work ― Narratives from Practice

??This book examines the integration and implications of mindfulness for clinical social work. The authors consider recent neurobiological research as well as clinical advances that allow for the integration of both mind and body into our understanding of human behavior and the social environment. Psychotherapy treatment modalities with mindfulness practices as a critical component are supported by case studies from direct practice settings. All chapters demonstrate an understanding of the implications of mindfulness as a practice, personally and professionally, as well as the impact on professional beliefs about physical health, mental health, cultural competency, and therapist self-care strategies.
