Brazilian Collaborative Theater ─ Interviews With Directors, Performers and Choreographers

Brazil has one of the most vibrant theater cultures in the world, with a wide variety of theatrical expression. This collection of 15 interviews with leading contemporary Brazilian directors, performers and choreographers explores their approaches to and experiences in creative theater. They describe a collaborative environment in which practitioners are concerned with fundamental questions about how productions are staged, and discuss the interdisciplinary climate that predominated beginning the 1980s.

Aleksandar Sa?a Dundjerovic is international theatre director and scholar who worked in Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Iran, Ireland, Great Britain, Romania, Serbia and Russia. He published expensively on theatre of Robert Lepage, directors’ theatre, collaborative processes, multimedia performance and Quebec film. He is Director of Center for Interdisciplinary Performative Arts in Birmingham Conservatoire of Music and Theatre.
