This volume contains a complete and clearly produced transcription of the Yale 229 codex of La mort le Roi Artu, with decorated capitals, abbreviations, and other editorial features noted throughout. Willingham provides an extensive introduction describing the manuscript and its text; a concluding section describes its decoration. A group of color plates are included, with four images to each page, of the manuscript's script and illuminations. Notable are the many supporting materials to the text, including text-editing notes, a guide to terms and symbols used in manuscript and language studies, extended notes to the text itself, a vocabulary of the glosses and notes, a glossary of proper names, and an extensive bibliography.
