Stigma Syndemics explores the linkages of social stigmatization, structural conditions, and how these societal forces affect human health. The authors examine new areas in which biosocial health can be better understood by looking at how social and biological interactions are driven by stigma, through a syndemic framework.

Bayla Ostrach is assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and core faculty member for the Master' of Science in Medical Anthropology and Cross-Cultural Practice program (MACCP) at Boston University School of Medicine.
Merrill Singer is professor in the Departments of Anthropology and Community Medicine at the University of Connecticut and senior research scientist at the University of Connecticut's Institute for Collaboration on Health, Intervention, and Policy (InCHIP).
