Holodomor is the name given to the murder by hunger of millions during the famine in Soviet Ukraine and the Kuban region of the North Caucasus, where Ukrainians formed a large percentage of the population. Klid (Ukrainian studies, U. of Alberta, Canada) and Motyl (political science, Rutgers U.-Newark, the US) have compiled and translated a selection of the growing documentation on the period for English speakers.
