A Crash Course in Statistics

A Crash Course in Statistics provides a short introduction to key statistical methods including descriptive statistics, ANOVA, the t-test, and Chi Square. Author Ryan J. Winter begins each of the five chapters with an overview of the statistical method, followed by a discussion of each statistical test in relation to the dataset used to accompany the book (a survey of students’ spending on college textbooks), then a demonstration of the analysis of the data in SPSS using the chapter’s statistical test, and then concludes with Quiz Questions to test mastery of the content (together with an answer key). Datasets for use in SPSS are posted on an accompanying website.
