Interrupted Journeys ─ A Memoir of an Army Brat

"Not another move!" Barbara exclaimed. "We've only been a year." Military families can expect to be relocated every two years, sometimes every year. Constant changes in schools, friends and homes can take a toll on a family. Both the author and her sister, Marilyn, suffered nightmares every night. Their mother started drinking in secret and Barbara's grades at four different elementary schools she attended went down. "Interrupted Journeys: A Memoir of an Army Brat" is based on the author's childhood experiences as a daughter of an army officer. It portrays many challenges which military families endure and would appeal to those who have been members of the service and their families.

Barbara Fifield is a retired social worker and journalist who has published widely in newspapers and literary journals. She has published three novels, "Photographs and Memories," "Lucifer Rising," and under a pseudonym, Belinda Tors, "Letting Go." She is also the author of a self-illustrated book of poetry, "Passion's Evidence." Ms. Fifield is a member of two writing groups, including the Florida Writers' Association and the Tomoka Poets. Ms. Fifield resides in Port Orange, Florida.
