MELISSA STEWART is the author of more than 150 science books for children, including 10 National Geographic Readers. Her picture book Feathers: Not Just for Flying (Charlesbridge, 2014, illustrated by Sarah S. Brannen) was an ALA Notable Book and winner of the Cybils Award for Nonfiction and the Nerdy Book Club Award for Nonfiction. Her picture book No Monkeys, No Chocolate (Charlesbridge, 2013, illustrated by Nicole Wang) was a Junior Library Guild selection, a Kirkus Best Books of 2013, and NSTA Outstanding Science Trade Book. A Place for Turtles (2013) won the Green Earth Book Award. Stewart is also the co-author (with Nancy Chesley) of Perfect Pairs: Using Fiction& Nonfiction Picture Books to Teach Life Science, K-2 (Stenhouse, 2014).
