商品簡介
The human rights system established by the African Charter on Human and People's Rights is essential, argues Mugwanya (a lawyer with the Prosecutor's office of the International Tribunal for Rwanda), for the furtherance of human rights on the continent. Comparing the system to other regional systems, he argues that the Charter rests upon universalism while adding to the normative foundations of human rights international law. The institutions and frameworks of the African Commission on Human and People's Rights are also found to be both efficacious and praise-worthy and recommendations for their strengthening are proffered.
