商品簡介
Guo (political science, Providence College) attempts to define the identity of the current Chinese regime in conceptual and comparative terms. He theoretically defines the difference between "totalitarianism" in which party ideology and the party-state apparatus totalistic control over ideological, political, legal, social, and economic aspects of control and a merely authoritarian regime which merely attempts to control people through denying access to civil rights, but leaves many areas of society untouched. After studying various changes in China after the death of Mao, Guo concludes that China essentially retains the features of a totalitarian regime. Annotation c.
