Chris McCully was born in Yorkshire in 1958. He graduated from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and then worked at the University in Manchester, where he earned his PhD, for many years. Between 2003 and 2013 he lived and worked in the Netherlands, dividing his time between academic and freelance projects. Chris is now a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies at the University of Essex. Along with a collection of new poems (A Few Late Wasps) he is also currently completing a book on the angling, history, and culture of the River Stour (Suffolk).
