本叢書按年級分，共2-5年級四冊。分冊本叢書再現了牛津英語教材主題式的教學模式。閱讀材料與教材的8個Module的主題相吻合。每個Module包含6-8篇從易到難的閱讀材料，便于學生在學習教材的同時同步提高閱讀能力。每篇閱讀材料后都附有相關的生詞、詞組釋義，四、五年級還列出了生詞音標，方便學生讀懂文章，並自學生詞。在練習設計上， 除了以往的一些閱讀題型外， 增加了一些游戲類的新題型，不僅幫助學生對閱讀內容做出理解反饋，又有助于提高學生的語言運用能力，讓學生在完成練習的過程中享受閱讀的樂趣，自然習得語言。
