商品簡介
This book provides an introduction of recent ideas of Modularization and Platform Design in the proposed Business Engineering methodology that provide improved foundations for the design of services and their production. This is particularly relevant in health services where the complexity and the indetermination of the particular treatments (services) for a given patient make very difficult the definition (design) of the service. We present empirical evidence and some pilot cases that make clear the potential of improving service by using these methods in health care production design.
This second edition provides more emphasis on the role of Analytics – e.g. predictive and prescriptive data based models, optimization techniques and simulation- in service design to support business development, by using models to generate new or improved service designs, and management by embedding models in operating process design; this allows generating truly Business Intelligence that optimizes service performance.
New Health Services cases are presented which show how Business Engineering ideas generate performance improvements at different service design levels
