A Phenomenological Inquiry of Science Teachers?Case Method Learning

This book illustrates a practical application of the Case Method as a teaching technique in teacher education, and examines how learning takes place in a teacher professional development activity. It also describes teachers’ lived experience of the activity based on Clark Moustakas' 1994 guidelines for organizing and presenting a phenomenological study.

Sye-Foong Yee has been a senior lecturer of Science Education at the Institute of Teacher Education Malaysia since 1994. She holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Science and Mathematics Education, and she served as Head of the Research and Innovation Department from 2003 to 2015. Her research interests include case-based teaching, STEM education, and science teacher education. Her research studies have been published in journals and presented at national and international conferences. Additionally, she serves on the editorial review board of journals that focus on STEM and teacher education. She has been writing and publishing Chemistry textbooks for Malaysian schools since 2000. She received the Australian Endeavour Research Fellowship 2016 at The University of Western Australia.
