Enzo Bonora is Full Professor and Director of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Diseases Section in the School of Medicine and Surgery, Verona University, Verona, Italy. He is current president of the Italian Society of Diabetes (2014–6). Professor Bonora’s clinical activity has covered the entire spectrum of endocrine and metabolic disease, both acute and chronic, and his areas of scientific research include insulin secretion and metabolism in normal subjects and various disease states, the treatment of diabetes mellitus, and the epidemiology and risk factors for type 2 diabetes and its chronic complications.
