Hans-Jorg Schulz received a master degree in computer science in 2004 and his PhD in 2010 from the University of Rostock. He is currently working as a senior researcher at the Fraunhofer IGD Rostock on industrial and academic projects in the domain of Big Data Analytics. His research interests include graph visualization, visualization design spaces, and Visual Analytics for biomedical and systems biological applications. Heidrun Schumann is heading the Computer Graphics Research Group at the Institute for Computer Science at the University of Rostock. Her research interests lie in the research areas of information visualization and Visual Analytics, particularly including the visualization of structures and multivariate data in space and time, the design of scalable visual interfaces and the development of rendering techniques. Current research projects are supported by research institutions or industry, and focus e.g. on the development of scalable visualization methods, on visual interfaces in smart environments, but also on application specific solutions, e.g. on the visualization of terrains or bio-medical data. Christian Tominski received diploma and doctoral degrees in 2002 and 2006 from the University of Rostock. Currently, he is a lecturer and researcher at the Institute for Computer Science at the University of Rostock. Christian has authored and co-authored several articles on new visualization and interaction concepts as well as on aspects related to the engineering of visualization solutions. His current research interests are the visualization of multivariate data in time and space, the visualization of networks, and the promising opportunities of utilizing novel display and interaction devices for visualization. He is particularly interested in the role of interaction for the visual exploration and analysis of data. Christian developed a number of visualization systems and tools.
