Social Work Practice with Families uses resiliency--a strength-based perspective--to frame a collaborative approach to assessment and treatment with families. Mary Patricia Van Hook, PhD, MSW, is Professor Emerita of Social Work at the University of Central Florida. She has extensive experience teaching family counseling courses and working with families facing a variety of circumstances. Dr. Van Hook has written and presented in the areas of families, rural mental health, spirituality, women's issues, and resiliency.
