This is the sixth of eight volumes based on pioneer American archaeologist Kidder's fieldwork at the pueblo of Pecos, in southwestern US, from 1915 to 1929. He introduced stratigraphy by cultural horizons into US practice. The 1932 edition was published by Yale University Press, and this reprint by Percheron Press (the reprint imprint of Eliot Werner Publications) has a new foreword by Fred Wendorf of Southern Methodist University.
