Captain Ahab and his crew are on a mission to hunt and kill Moby Dick, a colossus white sperm whale which bit off his leg during his previous voyage. It is while on its trail that Ahab meets Gabriel a demented prophet who prophesies doom to Pequod s entire crew if they continue with the mission.

The author illustrates in great detail how the crew of Pequod perished each at a time. Unfortunately, even after witnessing these deaths, the deranged Captain did not back down from this deadly mission.
