Curly is the perfect stereotypical cowpoke of stories, illiterate but lovable. He relates the story of Bonnie Bell Wright in her search for culture, happiness and a suitable husband. Bonnie grew up on a Wyoming ranch, with a doting father and several admiring cowboys. But things will change for Bonnie as she leave the ranch for Smith College, where she is to "... be made a lady." She travels to Chicago to join her father and Curly, where they retired to live out their lives in style and comfort. However, Bonnie Bell's introduction to society was not a pleasant one. Chicago's wealthy and elite are a not very accepting group of people.
