...And much more
You probably have many questions surrounding DIY protective face masks. Are they effective? Are they safe to use? What can you expect when making your masks, and how to handle them? We'll answer the most important questions revolving around homemade protective face masks. You'll learn how and to what degree they're effective in protecting against infections, and what are their advantages and shortcomings. You will also learn about general recommendations for the use and maintenance of homemade masks, which will show how to use each type of mask, how to clean and sterilize it, and whether to wash and re-use, or discard it. You will also learn which materials are recommended and safe, which are not, and which to avoid because they could be potentially dangerous.
Here, you will learn how to make masks that have multiple layers, and how to add elements to them that make wearing them easier and more comfortable. Also, you will learn which types of fabrics have been proven to help prevent a virus infection, and which are close to useless. With this knowledge, you will be able to find the best fabrics for your masks and create the mask that best fits your needs, preferences, and level of exposure.
While most popular, cotton face masks aren't necessarily the most effective. In this book, we will give you both sewing and folding instructions to create multiple types of flannel masks, from those that need only simple folding, to those that are sewn with multiple layers, filtered, and secured with additions to secure close to 80% protection against viruses. In this book, you will also learn how to tell if your linen is suitable for a face mask, and which types of linen to avoid. You will also learn how to clean and care for your linen masks so that they're long-lasting.
