Challenging Goliath: Leadership Lessons from the Life of King David explores six important leadership truths drawn from the experiences of one of the most widely known figures in the Bible. Whether you supervise others or simply want to make more meaningful contributions to the team you serve, Hughes's LEADER framework will challenge you to put these lessons to work.Larry Hughes has been engaged in the study and practice of leadership for nearly forty years. From his earliest experiences as a West Point cadet, Hughes has sought to understand how to more effectively lead and contribute to teams. His journey has included service as a US Army officer and in senior leadership roles in both corporate America and the not-for-profit community. He has also taught leadership, organizational behavior, and business strategy at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Hughes wrote this book to serve others by sharing the wisdom that can only come from a life of setbacks and successes. Along with sharing the stories of King David, Hughes tells the stories of his (and other leaders') work experiences; together, these accounts give readers the lessons they need to contribute to their teams more effectively. No matter your faith, Challenging Goliath will be a valuable addition to your leadership tool kit.
