He makes events of Desert Storm, with which we became very familiar from the 24-hour TV coverage the war received. For instance, the air attacks on the "Highway to Hell," the horrific air assault on Iraqis and vehicles on the highway from Kuwait City to Basra really come alive. His account of the five-month air war is very matter of fact, and he doesn't fall into the trap of either making himself out to be a hero or demean the important job he was called to do.
