Cuarto tomo de una de las obras m嫳 completas sobre la historia de Cuba, publicada en cinco volenes, que abarcan toda la historia cubana, desde los inicios abor璲enes y la conquista hasta el a隳 2000. El tomo IV trata de los a隳s entre 1959 a 1980: los inicios de la Revoluci鏮 y dictadura castrista/comunista. El enga隳 de una democracia nunca implantada, el largo exilio de los cubanos, la destrucci鏮 econ鏔ica del pa疄 y la supresi鏮 de todas las libertades y derechos.

Escritas por un historiador que particip?activamente en gran parte de la historia republicana y tambi幯 despu廥 de 1959. Lleg?a ser comandante en la lucha contra Batista y muy temprano se opuso al r嶲imen totalitario implantado por los Castro. Como yerno del historiador Ramiro Guerra tuvo acceso a muchos de sus archivos y dedic?los timos a隳s de su vida a escribir esta historia, de las m嫳 documentadas que se conocen.

This is the fourth of five volumes which is considered one of the most complete works on the history of Cuba. The collection covers Cuba's entire history, from its aboriginal beginnings and conquest until the year 2000. Volume IV deals with the years between 1959 and 1980: the beginnings of the Revolution and Castro Communist dictatorship. The deception of a democracy never implanted, the long exile of Cubans, the economic destruction of the country and the suppression of all freedoms and rights.

Written by a historian who actively participated in much of Cuba's history, before and after 1959. He became a commander in the fight against Batista and very early opposed the totalitarian regime implanted by the Castros. Furthermore, as son-in-law to historian Ramiro Guerra, Duarte had access to many of his archives and dedicated the last years of his life to writing this history, one of the most documented to date.
