Quality of life in hospitalized pediatric cancer patients

Quality of Life (QOL) is the result of the objective conditions of human life and the perception that the person has about it, resulting in an index of satisfaction and happiness of the person. The main purpose of this book is to know the level of Quality of Life (QOL) of pediatric patients hospitalized for cancer. A systematic review of the literature was carried out and studies were selected in which the QOL of pediatric patients with childhood cancer was evaluated using different measurement instruments. The Quality of Life Inventory, cancer module (PedsQL-3), by Dr. James Varni, was selected because it allows detailing each of the areas of QOL that are affected throughout the treatment of childhood cancer. The Quality of Life measurement was performed on 20 patients treated at the Hospital del Ni隳 DIF Hidalgo, Mexico; during the months of November and December 2019.
