About The Rise of MenUnited States Veterans have fought and sacrificed for our country. They have laid down their own blood and life in the defense of our Nation against foreign and Domestic threats, and the fight for freedoms and liberties we as a nation cherish. If you ever served our country in World War II, The Korean War, The Vietnam War, Desert Storm, The Iraqi, or Afghanistan War, I salute you.

This is book has been written from my personal lived experiences as a proud United States Veteran who has served in The Vietnam War. Unfortunately, many of our Veterans feel unappreciated, marginalized, suffering from low self-esteem, or have gone through battle and suffered the hellish effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I want you to know that you are our Nation's heroes. If you ever struggled with substance abuse like heroin, opioids or crystal meth, there is hope.

In this book, I chronicle my journey. My mother died shortly after giving birth to me. My father never came to see me even as a child. I grew up with the pain of rejection. I felt like an orphan who never had a father or a mother. While I knew my mother had passed, I couldn't understand why my own father never came to see me. Growing up I depended on my grandparents for everything. Can you imagine what it felt like to finally have a family? The military fraternal order where I would find a belonging? Now couple that with being a young man full of energy and winding up in a war zone overseas in Vietnam where everyday felt like the last day alive and there was no tomorrow but for the few that lived through the night? I can attest to the power of hope, survival, and faith. I've overcome, a drug addiction, survived emotional abuse, parental neglect, and most importantly low self-esteem.

This book is for everyone whether you are a veteran or civilian. I hope that you can extract some life lessons that will cause a quantum leap to Rise Up and soar like an Eagle in which you are.
