The poems in this collection whisper of joy at everyday occurrences of the natural world. They also unravel the emotional engagement towards the inward journey. The images surrounding the natural world are at once environmental, social, and personal. The layering of multiple perspectives with the natural offers the ease of reading. They can be taken as literal, natural representations or as channels to delve into deeper connotations. The poems hinge on water imagery to piece together memory, nostalgia and present. Memory, here, is not a trophy won that would speak of the past. It is a splinter from the past island on a journey to new shores. The lingering image of butterflies in the poems could be the poet's love for the winged beauty or through it, the light splay of carpe diem, or they can even be symbolic illumination of the existential trauma of transformation. In the collection, different natural images brim as sea waves, joyous and restless.
