The author is a Canadian from Montreal. He is fluent in four languages, English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

He worked in Manhattan as a consultant for months, biked Manhattan, and the roads he describes in Northern Vermont. He traveled in more than 20 US states, in Europe, Africa, and South America. All this experience, along with a good knowledge of geography and history, are reflected in this book.

He is married and is the father of 3 children. He lives on the Montreal south shore, in the Quebec province, in Canada. ------
