商品簡介
Tuk Tuks and Sticky Rice will give you a sense of how Laos has a mysterious way of getting deep under your skin. The authors sending organisation uses the motto, 'People for the hard places', but they never felt that way about Laos. Even with its trials and heartaches, they learned to deeply appreciate the beauty and grace of the land and its people. The extra resilience, resources, time, and effort demanded of those who seek to walk alongside the people of Laos is well worth the cost. Although they pledged from the start to 'give the best of their years' to Laos, they received so much in return. This book is an invitation to join the Whetham family as they do battle with insistent insects, scratch their heads over furry friends, lie awake at night mulling over schooling and visa 'options', and navigate unthinkable and unexpected challenges and joys in the stunning country they call 'home'.
