It's New Orleans in the 1900s, and in this novella, Jack Calloway stands at a crossroads. Does he continue down the same path of destruction? Or does he become the man his wife once knew?

A code that trades antiquated ways of survival for a new structure, one that benefits all. Joined under one rule, the Ascenders learn to live among humans without taking their lives. Unfortunately, a group of rebels, The Vampire Sovereign League refuses to join and won't stop until they take down the Dracul.

Jack's nestmate is the head of the VSL's Southern District, and Jack's learned to despise everything about the Dracul. When Jack befriends an Ascender, a growing resentment coupled with new knowledge, has Jack questioning it all.

When Jack is given an impossible task, Jack must reconcile his past, present, and future. He must choose which code to live by. In this race against time, and the fight of his life, can Jack count on his friends as he answers the question-Is blood enough?
