The First Course

After years of working in a restaurant, Carter has finally decided to step up and become a manager. It would be a piece of cake ... so, he thought! They say the customer is always right, but that's a myth. Customers lie, manipulate, are confrontational and downright rude. The first time a customer tried to fight him, Carter began doubting if this was the right line of work. However, handling difficult customers was the easy part.

Working side by side with corrupt, dishonest, and unprofessional managers is another obstacle that proves harder to deal with than any rude customer. Carter is shocked when he witnesses a manager cursing at an employee, but when another manager hands him drugs inside the restaurant, he is beside himself!

Hiring, firing, and interviewing are just a few responsibilities Carter must master. But trying to maintain his professionalism without fighting a customer or a member of the staff will be even tougher. He must figure out how to keep his job and his sanity as the stress and long hours make him question if he's made the right decision.
