Back in the Bay, Taryn is in complete bliss, hoping to kick off an amazing summer. After dealing with all the drama, loss, and heartbreak back home in Hawai'i, being back in San Francisco gave her a sense of peace and a breath of fresh air she desperately needed to feel like herself again. With a new job teaching summer classes at the university, the thought of getting to spend the summer with Derek, having the opportunity to bond with her brother and his girlfriend, and potentially rebuild a friendship with Lewis that was once lost, Taryn was truly excited to move on with her life.

However, life always pushes for balance. Right when everything seemed to be falling into place for Taryn, a huge twist flips her life upside down, and everything she knows and has worked for will change. Taryn finds out she's pregnant. But before she can figure things out with Derek, a tragedy of his own strikes, this time pushing him to run back to deal with things with his ex. Taryn is left feeling heartbroken and alone, her fear getting the best of her. As he always has, her friend Lewis comes to her rescue, stepping up and supporting her like no time between them has passed.

As she slowly tries to adapt and gain a grip on this new life, Taryn pushes past her limits and her idea of loss beyond anything she could ever comprehend. Twists and turns in her life begin an epic battle between her mind and heart, making her second guess every choice she is faced with and a difficult decision on what path she should take next as she tries desperately to move forward. Will she be able to find the strength to push through yet again? Will she ever get her happily ever after? Or will this final turn in her life ruin her forever?
