A Study on Structural and Functional Aspects of Preschools

INTRODUCTION Education is a powerful instrument, essential for activating an individual's potential for social change. It helps in developing an equitable society for the development of the nation. The education system of a country promoting life-long learning opportunities for its citizen can facilitate the inclusive and equitable quality. Education is one of the most influential instruments for social progress and transformation. The ultimate goal of education is to enable the holistic development of the individual for a better social life. Thus, individuals must be able to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that are relevant to the creation of a democratic society based on sustainable development. The first education policy of 21st century i.e. National Education Policy 2020 addresses such kind of growing developmental imperatives of India that bring highest quality, equity, and integrity in to the system, from early childhood care and education to higher education. It is also emphasizing the development of creative potential of each individual, foundational capacities and higher order cognitive capacities. Education is considered as the foundation of any civilized society. The education system of any society is graded by the capability of its member's ability for rational thought and action, scientific temper, creative imagination, sound ethical and moral values that directly contribute to transform it.
