What we truly are is bliss, love and peace. However, by always following our 'monkey minds' we prevent ourselves from experiencing the permanent happiness of our true nature. What then can we do? One of the means of training our minds to be still, advises Swami Premananda, is to carefully observe our speech. What we say and what we listen to can either distance us from our inherent peace of mind or bring us closer to it.
The first part of this booklet contains excerpts from some of Swamiji's discourses, giving suggestions on how to overcome the gossiping and criticizing tendencies of human nature and on the good use of our two sense organs related to speech-the mouth and ears. In the second part, Swamiji's teachings lead us from outer silence to inner silence.
May these wise words, spoken with divine love, help you on your journey towards enduring and ineffable bliss, love and peace.
