Trapped

Young adult thriller by James Wilson, a well-regarded novelist. Nobody anticipated that the blizzard would last for a week when it first began. That for people in its path, being alive would become more important than just staying warm. As the final seven students at their high school waiting to be picked up on that particular day, Scotty and his friends Pete and Jason quickly come to the realization that nobody is coming to pick them up. Even yet, it doesn't seem too horrible to spend the night at school, especially because Krista and Julie are dozing off just down the hall and are distractingly hot. But suddenly the heat comes on and the power goes off. The ceiling trembles as the pipes freeze. A dreadful choice is made as the days pass, the snow accumulates higher, and the lonely halls become colder and darker.
